ARTISTS' TRUST FUND

CURRENT VALUE:

$100

“Some of the most comforting words in the universe are ‘me too.’ That moment when you find out that your struggle is also someone else’s struggle, that you’re not alone, and that others have been down the same road.”

In 2020 we at Echo are turning our attention to the mental health epidemic that is sweeping our generation. Burn-out, loneliness, profound sadness, and/or a sense of despair seems to be the baseline for many of us.  We don’t claim have the solution to this, but we want to commit this year to coming together as a community to explore these ideas and find solace in each other.

In light of this we want to announce our brand-new Artists' Trust Fund, a program designed to offer a helping hand to a deserving member of our community.

How it works:

  • A percentage of the profits from each event (i.e. theatre productions, fundraisers, open art jams, etc.) that Echo Productions produces will be set aside and help in a trust

    • This percentage will vary, but will be anywhere between 25% and 100%.

  • This fund will continue to accrue until the end of the Echo season (October 5th, 2020)

    • The total value of the trust will be kept up-to-date at the top of this page

  • On September 5th, 2020 we will begin accepting applications to receive the entire balance of the fund, to be paid out on the final date (October 5th, 2020)

How to apply:

  • e-mail victoria.echoproductions@gmail.com with a headshot, short artist's biography, and a maximum 1-page letter detailing why you believe you are an ideal recipient of this grant and what it would be going towards

Who can apply:

  • Any Toronto-based artist who feels that their mental health is impacting their creative spirit
